Sunil Sharma, Ph.D., P.E., University of Idaho

This Civil Engineering PDH online course presents geotechnical concepts that form the foundation of slope stability, as well as covering the basics of analyzing slopes.

Users will utilize graphics, animations, and problems to learn necessary concepts for understanding and analyzing slopes.

Virtual instructors engage participants in explanations and questions on topics such as shear strength and failure envelopes, laboratory tests of soil strength, and the advantages and disadvantages of different stability analyses and methods of slope stabilization. Optional tutorials on soil classification and basic trigonometry, and a list of other resources offer additional information.

Civil Technical Courses include courses such as Wind Loads, Roadside Design, Storm Water, Wetlands and Slope Stability. Courses are developed with the ASCE and contain content found in their live seminar programs.
